Announcing the premier of

Under Paradise Valley

...

my play / performance piece / art installation which will be performed at Smith College on 24-25 March, 2016. The piece began as an art installation in 2013 at Historic Northampton Museum. 125 viewers donned a white bib, stepped behind a window printed with a photo of a gravestone carving from Bridge Street Cemetery, chose a caption to hold, and we took their pictures. I thank them for doing that!

Since then I’ve turned their captions into a graphic script—like a graphic novel, only written as a play-- called Under Paradise Valley. The script (or performed installation; I'm not quite sure what it is) will be performed at Smith on Thurs. and Fri., March 24th and 25th, in the Smith College Poetry Center, at 7:30 pm. It is sponsored by the English Department and directed by Mariel Bell, ’16.

The above image is the cover of the graphic script. The image below is a photo from an 18th century gravestone carving from the headstone of Benjamin Edwards, located in Bridge St. Burial Ground in Northampton, Massachusetts.

Come and hear the spirits "under Paradise Valley" speak!
